Aluminum Mesh Filters

Thrift-Aire, Lifetime, Heavy Duty and Bonded "A"

Smith Aluminum Mesh filters are uniquely designed to remove dust, dirt and other foreign objects from the air. The patented design causes the air to constantly change directions while passing through the filter. Smith Aluminum mesh filters will hold up to numerous cleanings as long as strong alkali solutions aren't used. When using Smith Mesh Filters in an air application, Smith Filter Spray is recommended to achieve maximum dirt retention.

THRIFT-AIRE

The THRIFT-AIRE filter is a six layer filtering element, processed from sheet Aluminum commercially known as 3000-h14 .025 thickness, expanded to .20 strand at specific feeds to assure maximum filtering and internal loading capabilities. The frame is made from sheet aluminum, roll formed to the exact specifications needed to create a solid filter. Corners are mitered and secured in one of those corners by rivets. Filter units will retain 290 grams of dust per 2.25 sq. ft. (20x20 filter). Resistance, when clean, is 0.05w.g. at 350 FPM air velocity. Maximum resistance at capacity is 0.335 w.g. The THRIFT-AIRE will withstand temperatures up to 240 degrees F. This light weight Aluminum filter was designed to be used in air handling units, roof top units, light industrial and home applications

LIFETIME

The Smith LIFETIME filter is made from seven layers of expanded sheet Aluminum known as 3003-h14, expanded to .031 strand. Frames are made from sheet aluminum .040 thickness and roll formed to allow for precise dimensions, then joined together by aluminum rivets at one corner. These sturdy Aluminum filters are precision made and thoroughly tested, exceeding the test requirements for Fed. Spec. ASTMF872. The Lifetime filtering element will retain 571 grams of dust per 2.25 sq. ft. (20x20 filter) of filter area. Resistance when clean is .077 w.g. at 350 FPM air velocity. The maximum temperature range of the LIFETIME filter is 250 degrees F. The Smith LIFETIME filter is designed to be used in automatic heating, ventilation or air conditioning units plus other applications where a sturdy permanent filter is required.

HEAVY DUTY

The HEAVY DUTY filter element consists of 8 layers of aluminum commercially known as 3003-H14, .025 thickness expanded to .050 strand. The front layer of expanded is extra rigid to give additional strength to the filter. The frame is made from sheet aluminum, .040 thickness joined by heavy rivets at one corner. This heavy Aluminum filter will retain 585 grams of dust per 2.25 sq. ft. (20x20 filter) of filter area. Resistance when clean is .077 w.g. at 350 FPM air velocity. Maximum temperature range of the Smith HEAVY DUTY is 275 degrees F. The HEAVY DUTY Aluminum filter is designed for extra rugged use in high capacity heating and air conditioning units, plus other applications where a rugged aluminum filter is required.

BONDED ″A″

The BONDED ″A″ filter is processed from Bonded Aluminum material that consists of many layers of tiny baffles, bonded together to make up a solid pad. Frames are made from sheet Aluminum, 3003-H16, .025 thickness. This filter element will retain 204 grams of dust per 2.25 sq. ft. (20x20 filter) of filter media with an average arrestance of 71.5%. Resistance when clean is 0.4 w.g. at 350 FPM. There are many uses for the BONDED ″A″ filter. A few of these are ceiling vent fans, auto air conditioners, central air conditioners, computer environment systems, electronic air cleaners, range hood fans, room air conditioners, and wall heaters.
