SEP (Smith Economy Pleat) and SDP (Smith Deluxe Pleat)

Both filters are designed for a long service life and to reduce HVAC air handling equipment maintenance costs through higher filter efficiencies. SDP's have more pleats per foot, giving more surface area to clean the air.

The filtering material is made from a special pretested blend of cotton and polyester fibers. The media is bonded to a special galvanized steel, expanded metal support grid with a 95% open face area. The media and metal combination is designed to prevent sagging and collapse since they are bonded tightly to the frame, eliminating any air bypass.

The frame is a special diecut, solid Draft board with extra moisture resistance, designed to prevent collapse under extreme humidity conditions.

Smith Pleats are rated at 30-35% average atmospheric dust stop efficiency with a 90% (or greater) average synthetic dust weight arrestance when tested in accordance with ASHRAE 52-76 standard test method.

PLEATED CHARCOAL FILTERS

Charcoal impregnated pleated filters are made with a carbon (coconut shell based) impregnated synthetic media, containing 10.44 grams of carbon per sq. foot of media area. The frame is a rigid water resistant beverage board used also in the standard pleated filters. These filters are more than an odor remover, they also are an effective filtering element. Filters tested by ASHRAE Standard 52-76.

A few applications for the Pleated Charcoal Filter are Air Conditioners, Air Intake Systems, Paint Booths, Furnaces, Air Purification Devices, Ozone removal and Radon absorption.

RIGID CELL (6" and 12" deep)

The RIGID CELL is designed and manufactured with a continuous piece of high density, lofted, ultrafine micro fiberglass material. The media is laminated on the exhaust side with a high strength reinforced synthetic material, allowing it to achieve the high efficiency levels. To insure both vertical and horizontal pleat stability, a heavy duty 28 gauge corrosive resistant galvanized metal grid is continuously bonded to the exhaust side of the filter media.

4″ MINI PLEAT

The Smith 4″ MINI PLEATS are a H.E.P.A. type of filters, designed to take out the finest of particles without having to add costly equipment to your furnace. These H.E.P.A. type filters are designed to remove 65% to 95% of all airborne matter. The filter uses a special media intended to capture both small and large particles with minimum airflow restriction.
The MINI PLEAT construction is designed to give the filter more surface area. This filter has an average of over 5 times as much surface area as most 4″ pleated filters. The increased surface area means better filtering capabilities and long filter life. These filters can provide up to one year of use with proper care and maintenance.

SPECIAL SIZE PLEATS

The special blend of cotton and polyester pleated media used in Smith Stock pleats is also found in Smith Special Pleats. Bottlecap supports the media on the outgoing side and heavy chipboard frame is used to give the filter extra strength. Special pleated filters are available to meet any size requirement.

PLEATED INSERTS

This material can be purchased in both pads and rolls and is the same quality material as found in the regular pleated filter. This material can be cut to the size you require, determined by the pad holding frame, the Smith S-76 Pad Holding Frame for example.
